That The Baby
"That The Baby"
by
Rush Montgomery III
Taking hands and giving eyes,
A heart for fears, and ears for lies,
A nose that smells out your disguise,
No wonder that the baby cries.
Losing fights, and battles won,
An empty palm, a loaded gun,
An inside when the outside's done,
No wonder that the baby runs.
[ CHORUS ]
No wonder that the baby grows,
Into a man with tattered clothes.
No wonder that the baby waits,
To never love, to only hate.
No wonder that the baby learns,
That words, like fire, can cause you burns.
With parents teaching baby lies,
No wonder that the baby cries.
Drinking dad, and distant mom,
The mindless brainwash marches on,
And in the end, it sees the dawn,
No wonder that the baby's gone.
[ REPEAT CHORUS ]
